Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 c. dill pickles
- 1/2 c. diced onion
- 6 to 7 c. flour
Method
- Dissolve yeast in warm water. Scald milk and melt shortening. Stir all ingredients together.
- Add 6 to 7 cups flour and knead well. Let rise in warm place until doubled in size.
- Punch dough down and make into loaves. Let rise again. Bake at 375° for about 40 minutes or until.
