Ingredients
- 5 lb. flour
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar (sweetener)
- 4 Tbsp. shortening (heaping)
- 2 oz. yeast
- 6 c. warm water
Method
- Add salt and sugar to flour.
- Cut shortening into dry ingredients.
- Dissolve yeast in 4 cups of warm water.
- Add 2 more cups of warm water as needed.
- Mix well with hands.
- Knead on a hard surface until it is all smooth and worked together.
- Grease top in bowl.
- Let rise until double in size.
- Punch down.
- Let rise again.
- Put in pans.
- Let rise.
- Bake at 350° until golden brown.
