Ingredients

  • 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped peanuts

Method

  • Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
  • Cream together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla.
  • Mix well.
  • Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, beating after each addition.
  • Stir in peanuts.
  • Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake in hot oven (400°) for 10 minutes.
  • Yields about 4 dozen cookies.
