Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 c. peanut butter
- 1/2 c. broken walnuts
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- In 6-quart saucepan stir together sugar and milk.
- Add salt. Cook over medium-high heat to a rolling boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium, stirring only 2 to 3 times, cook to soft ball stage.
- Remove from heat.
- Add margarine, peanut butter and vanilla.
- Do not stir.
- Place pan in cold water for 15 to 20 minutes or until mixture starts losing its gloss.
- Add walnuts; beat mixture until very thick.
- Turn into 7 x 9-inch pan. Refrigerate until firm.
