Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. peanut butter
  • 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda

Method

  • Heat oven to 375°.
  • Combine peanut butter, Crisco, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl.
  • Beat until well blended. Add egg.
  • Beat until blended.
  • Combine flour, salt and baking soda.
  • Add to creamed mixture at low speed.
  • Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet.
  • Flatten slightly with a fork.
  • Bake at 375° for 7 to 8 minutes or until beginning to brown.
  • Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet before taking off sheet.
  • Makes 3 dozen cookies.
