Ingredients
- 1 c. light Karo syrup
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. raw peanuts
- 1 tsp. butter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
Method
- Cook Karo syrup, water and sugar until creamy, light amber in color.
- Add raw shelled peanuts and continue cooking constantly until peanuts are parched and candy is a little more brown.
- Add butter, salt and soda.
- Beat 1 minute; pour thinly on buttered tray.
- Do not spread with a spoon.
- As it cools, stretch out into thin wafer-like pieces.
- When cool, break into pieces.
