Ingredients

  • 1 c. light Karo syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. raw peanuts
  • 1 tsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda

Method

  • Cook Karo syrup, water and sugar until creamy, light amber in color.
  • Add raw shelled peanuts and continue cooking constantly until peanuts are parched and candy is a little more brown.
  • Add butter, salt and soda.
  • Beat 1 minute; pour thinly on buttered tray.
  • Do not spread with a spoon.
  • As it cools, stretch out into thin wafer-like pieces.
  • When cool, break into pieces.
