Ingredients
- 2 c. hot water (from tap)
- 2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. Karo light corn syrup
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. raw Spanish peanuts
Method
- Combine sugar, water and syrup in a pan.
- Stir until clear on medium to medium-high heat.
- When clear, boil until it spins a thread when dropped from the spoon, approximately 45 minutes. (Cook to 230° or until it threads.)
- Add peanuts.
- Boil until peanuts turn brown, 8 to 9 minutes.
- Quickly stir in soda and vanilla.
- Pour onto clean, ungreased cookie sheet and spread.
