Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. white syrup
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 c. raw peanuts
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Boil sugar, syrup and water until it will spin a thread (240°). Add peanuts and salt and continue cooking slowly over a low fire until it turns a golden brown at the hard-crack stage (300°). Remove from fire and add butter, baking soda and vanilla.
- Stir quickly.
- Spread on two large cookie sheets that have been well buttered.
- Cool and break into pieces.
