Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1/8 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 c. macaroni
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 3 Tbsp. American cheese
  • 2 c. scalded milk
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 4 eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/4 lb. Feta or American cheese

Method

  • Brown hamburger and onion; drain. Add water and tomato paste. Cook macaroni; drain. Add margarine and cheese. Cook milk, 1/2 cup margarine, cornstarch and water until thick; cool. Beat eggs until yellow. Add seasonings and cheese. In 2-quart casserole, layer the meat, macaroni and sauce. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
