Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. shredded carrot
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 can vegetable soup
  • 1 soup can water
  • 1 can white kidney bean
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme leaves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 c. uncooked pasta (small shell)
  • 1 lb. ground meat

Method

  • In 4-quart dish over medium heat, cook meat until brown.
  • Add onion, carrot and garlic.
  • Cook until vegetables are tender, stirring.
  • Stir in soup, water and beans with their liquid.
  • Mix thyme, bay leaf and pepper.
  • Heat to boiling.
  • Reduce heat to low. Simmer 15 minutes.
  • Stir in pasta.
  • Cook about 12 minutes more. Discard bay leaf.
