Ingredients
- 6 large white onions
- 1/2 c. water
- 6 tsp. chicken bouillon, dissolved
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 6 slices French bread or toast
- seasoned croutons
- sliced Swiss or Mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
Method
- Simmer thinly sliced onions in water until tender.
- Dissolve bouillon.
- Add to onions.
- Simmer a few minutes.
- Place a few croutons and a slice of toast in each bowl.
- Add a slice of cheese.
- Pour soup over cheese.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Let stand for a minute or two to melt cheese.
