Ingredients

  • 6 medium baking apples
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • unbaked pie shell
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 stick margarine

Method

  • Slice apples; place in a large bowl.
  • Combine 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and nutmeg.
  • Sprinkle over apples and toss well. Spoon into unbaked pie shell and drizzle with lemon juice.
  • Combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour and stick margarine, then sprinkle over apples.
  • Slide pie into brown paper bag.
  • Fold open end twice and fasten with paper clip.
  • Bake on cookie sheet at 425° for 1 hour.
