Ingredients
- 1 pt. shelled oysters
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/4 c. cold water
- 1 qt. scalded milk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Method
- Clean oysters, reserving liquid.
- Heat butter.
- Add oysters and liquid and water.
- Simmer gently until edges of oysters begin to curl.
- Add scalded milk, seasoning and Worcestershire sauce. Garnish each serving with dash of paprika.
- If richer stew is desired, substitute 1/2 cup cream for 1/2 cup milk.
