Ingredients
- 2 sticks margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda, dissolved in buttermilk
- 1 lb. candy orange slices, diced
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. dates
- 1 c. flaked coconut
Method
- Cream sugar and butter.
- Add eggs, 1 at a time.
- Beat flour and milk alternately.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Bake in tube pan 3 1/2 hours at 250°.
- Remove from oven.
- Cool slightly and pour mixture of 1 can orange juice and 2 cups powdered sugar over cake while still in pan.
- Let stand overnight before removing from pan.
