Ingredients

  • 2 pears, peeled
  • 1 cup Orange juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 peel from Orange
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 3 tbsp lavender
  • 1 mint

Method

  • Add all ingredients other than pears and mint to a pot and bring to a boil.
  • Stir mixture to dissolve sugar completely.
  • Add pears and lower heat.
  • Simmer for 45 minutes, turning pears as needed to ensure even cooking and coating.
  • Remove pears carefully and set aside.
  • Remove lavender and other spices by straining liquid.
  • Continue to cook and reduce sauce until thick enough to coat back of spoon.
  • Pour sauce over the pears and garnish with mint.
