Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened to room temp
  • 12 cup butter flavor shortening
  • 1 12 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 12 cups flour
  • 1 12 cups chocolate chips

Method

  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • In large mixing bowl thoroughly mix butter, shortening and sugar.
  • Stir in egg and molasses.
  • Dump salt, baking soda and flour into wet mix and on low speed, mix well for 2 minutes.
  • Add in chocolate chips and mix for another minute.
  • Scoop a silverware-spoon serving size and place on cookie sheet about 2 inches apart and from edge.
  • This will spread out fairly flat and even.
  • Cook for 7-9 minutes, until JUST turning brown on edge and remove.
  • Cool on sheet for 4 minutes and then place on cooling rack until ready to eat or place in cookie jar.
