Ingredients
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 1/4 tsp. butter or margarine
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 1/4 c. sifted flour
- 1 Tbsp. instant onion
- 1/2 tsp. dried dill weed, rosemary or other herb
- melted butter
- coarse salt
Method
- Scald milk; remove from heat.
- Stir in sugar, salt and butter until dissolved.
- Cool.
- In large bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Add cooled milk mixture.
- Stir flour into yeast mixture.
- Add onions and herbs.
- Stir together until well blended.
- Cover and let rise in warm place until tripled in bulk (45 minutes).
