Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda in 1/4 c. hot water
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- pinch of salt
Method
- Cream sugar, butter and then add eggs.
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
- Set aside.
- Add baking soda to water and stir. Alternately add dry ingredients and liquid ingredients, soda water, vanilla and buttermilk until well mixed.
- Drop by heaping teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 375° for about 10 minutes in center of oven.
