Ingredients
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
Method
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, soda and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. With pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
- Add buttermilk and stir with a fork until well combined.
- Knead into a ball.
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- On a lightly floured board, roll out dough 1/8-inch thick.
- With a floured 3-inch round cutter, cut into crackers.
- Lightly grease several baking sheets.
- Prick tops several times with the tines of a fork.
- Sprinkle with some of the remaining salt.
- Bake until lightly browned on edges, about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Cool baked crackers completely on wire rack.
- Store tightly covered.
