Ingredients
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. shortening
- 6 large eggs
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
Method
- Cream sugar, vanilla and shortening until fluffy.
- Add eggs alternately with flour.
- Beat until well blended.
- Pour into well-greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3 1/2-inch loaf pan.
- Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours or until center is done.
- Cool about 10 minutes on wire rack.
- Remove from pan and cool completely. (Lemon flavoring or other flavoring may be substituted.)
