Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Mix together the molasses and milk in a large bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, mix both flours, sugar, baking soda, salt and nuts; stir quickly into liquid, mixing until just blended.
  • Pour batter into greased and floured 9 1/2 x 5 1/4 x 2 3/4-inch pan.
  • Bake in preheated 350° oven for 50 to 60 minutes.
  • Cool in pan before slicing.
  • Makes 1 loaf.
