Ingredients
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 2 c. plain flour
- 3 egg yolks, beaten
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. nuts, chopped fine (pecans, walnuts)
- 3 egg whites, beaten
Method
- Cream butter and add sugar; beat until smooth.
- Add beaten egg yolks and mix well.
- Combine the dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with milk.
- Add vanilla and nuts; mix well.
- Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
- Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 350° for 45 minutes or until done.
- Good with caramel frosting.
