Ingredients
- 2 egg whites
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- dash of salt
- 1 c. chocolate chips
- 1 c. nuts (walnuts or pecans)
Method
- Heat oven to 350°.
- Line cookie sheet with foil.
- Finely chop nuts.
- Beat egg whites until foamy.
- Gradually add sugar and vanilla.
- Beat until stiff peaks form.
- (Egg whites may be tinted with food coloring if desired.)
- Fold in chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
- Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheet.
- Place in oven. Immediately turn oven off.
- Leave oven door shut for 8 hours. Makes 2 to 3 dozen.
