Ingredients
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 egg
- 5 Tbsp. water
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
Method
- Combine flour and salt in a large bowl.
- Cut in shortening. Combine egg, water and vinegar.
- Mix well.
- Pour liquid ingredients into dry ingredients.
- Mix until the flour is moistened and dough is easy to handle.
- Divide into 3 parts.
- Roll out one part at a time on a floured board.
- Dough may be covered and refrigerated for up to a week.
- Dough may also be frozen. Yields pastry for 3 (9-inch) pies.
