Ingredients

  • 1 or 2 lb. hamburger
  • 2 qt. water
  • 1 or 2 large onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 4 to 5 carrots
  • 4 to 5 potatoes
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 large can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 large can tomato juice
  • 1/2 small cabbage
  • 1 cube beef bouillon
  • 4 celery stalks

Method

  • Cook hamburger and beef bouillon in 2 quarts water. Cool and put in refrigerator overnight. Remove fat from pot and discard. In stew pot, add stewed tomatoes, tomato juice, onions and garlic. Cook as you prepare the rest of the vegetables. Add cabbage last as it cooks quickly.
