Ingredients

  • 4 large apples (I recommend Fuji or Granny Smith)
  • 12 cup apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 12 teaspoon cinnamon

Method

  • Peel, core, and slice the apples.
  • You may want to taste a piece in order to adjust the later addition of sugar accordingly.
  • Place apples, cider, and cinnamon in a saucepan.
  • Cover and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low, and cook with cover on for about 20 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, add sugar, and stir until sugar dissolves.
  • Optional: Before plating, you may want to use a stick blender to puree the cooked apples into a smoother sauce.
  • Take care not to burn yourself when doing this.
