Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. pecans
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (9-inch) pie crust

Method

  • Combine sugar, corn syrup and margarine.
  • Cook on low to medium heat until hot to touch and margarine melts.
  • Remove from heat and very slowly pour mixture into beaten eggs, stirring constantly as you pour.
  • Add pecans or walnuts and vanilla.
  • Bake in a 350° oven for 35 to 45 minutes or until pie is not shaky in the center.
