Ingredients

  • 1 lb. butter, softened
  • 2 c. dark brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 6 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 4 c. chocolate chips (I prefer white chocolate)
  • 2 c. chopped nuts (Macadamia nuts are good, optional)

Method

  • Cream together butter and sugars.
  • Beat in vanilla.
  • Add eggs and beat 3 to 4 minutes. Mix together flour, salt and soda. Then add to creamed mixture.
  • Mixture should be sticky and dry.
  • Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Drop by small scoops on waxed paper and bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Cool 5 minutes on cookie sheet before removing.
