Ingredients
- 1/2 c. bourbon
- 1 1/2 c. brewed coffee
- 5 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 2 c. sugar
- pinch of salt
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 5 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. vanilla
Method
- Preheat oven to 275°.
- Combine bourbon with hot coffee.
- Melt chocolate in this mixture.
- Add sugar and salt.
- Combine flour, baking soda and powder and gradually beat into chocolate mixture. Do not overbeat.
- Lightly mix eggs and vanilla into batter.
- Pour into a buttered and floured tube pan and bake at 275° for about 1 1/2 hours.
- The cake is done when a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- May frost if desired.
