- 1 12 lbs extra lean ground beef
- vegetable cooking spray
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- 12 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
- 3 (8 ounce) cans basil, garlic, and oregano tomato sauce
- 14 cup cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 1 (14 ounce) package dinner rolls, toasted
Method
- Cook ground beef in a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat 10 minutes or until beef crumbles and is no longer pink.
- Remove meat from skillet, and drain well.
- Saute onion and bell pepper in skillet 5 minutes or until tender.
- Return meat to skillet; stir in tomato sauce and next 5 ingredients.
- Bring mixture to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes.
- Spoon mixture evenly into toasted dinner rolls, and serve immediately.
