Ingredients

  • 1 12 lbs extra lean ground beef
  • vegetable cooking spray
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 12 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 3 (8 ounce) cans basil, garlic, and oregano tomato sauce
  • 14 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (14 ounce) package dinner rolls, toasted

Method

  • Cook ground beef in a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat 10 minutes or until beef crumbles and is no longer pink.
  • Remove meat from skillet, and drain well.
  • Saute onion and bell pepper in skillet 5 minutes or until tender.
  • Return meat to skillet; stir in tomato sauce and next 5 ingredients.
  • Bring mixture to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes.
  • Spoon mixture evenly into toasted dinner rolls, and serve immediately.
