Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. dark Karo syrup
  • 1/2 stick real butter
  • 2 c. raw pecans or peanuts
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1-inch sq. paraffin wax
  • Pam

Method

  • Place sugar, syrup, butter in a microwave safe 2-quart bowl. (I've found 2-quart Pyrex measuring cup great.)
  • DO NOT STIR!! Place in microwave on High for 5 minutes.
  • Take out and stir in paraffin wax square.
  • Then stir in
  • desired nuts.
  • Cook on High for 6 minutes.
  • Remove from microwave and stir in 2 teaspoons baking soda.
  • Pour into pans sprayed with Pam.
  • (If microwave is slow, you may have to cook a little longer.)
