Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) margarine
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. light Karo syrup
  • dash of salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 qt. popped corn (2/3 to 1 c. unpopped)

Method

  • In a microwavable 3 quart dish, combine margarine, brown sugar and Karo syrup.
  • Microwave on High for 5 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  • Stir in soda.
  • Place popped popcorn in brown paper bag. Pour brown sugar mixture over popcorn.
  • Stir or shake to coat popcorn.
  • Put bag in microwave and cook on High 1 minute.
  • Stir. Cook on High another minute.
  • Shake and serve.
