Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 (8 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 3 cans water (use tomato paste can)
  • 1 can tomato and green chilies
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin seed
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • shredded lettuce
  • corn chips
  • diced avocado
  • diced tomato
  • shredded cheese
  • chopped green onion
  • chopped ripe olives
  • coconut (optional)
  • salsa
  • peanuts
  • raisins

Method

  • Crumble meat and cook over moderate heat.
  • Add onion.
  • Add paste, water, tomatoes, chilies and spices.
  • Simmer 40 minutes. Let each guest serve himself to cooked rice, covered with sauce and none or all of these ingredients:
