Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled
  • 1 (8 oz.) can peas or vegetable or your choice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. bacon drippings

Method

  • Saute onion in bacon drippings.
  • Brown ground beef and sauteed onion.
  • Meanwhile, boil peeled potatoes for mashing and cook peas (or other vegetable) in butter.
  • In a casserole dish put peas (1st layer), ground beef (2nd layer) and on top spread the mashed potatoes.
  • Bake 15 minutes in a 300° oven.
  • Serve hot.
