Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 c. breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 c. tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. vinegar
  • dash of hot sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Method

  • Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, salt, pepper and tomato sauce and pack into a loaf pan.
  • Combine water, brown sugar, vinegar, hot sauce, mustard and Worcestershire sauce and pour over loaf.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes, basting occasionally with sauce and pan juices.
  • Let cool 20 minutes before serving.
