Ingredients
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 1/2 c. celery and leaves, chopped fine
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic or 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 8 oz. pkg. fine egg noodles
- 2 cans tomato soup
- 1 (6 oz.) can mushrooms and liquid
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
Method
- Brown meat in large skillet.
- Remove excess fat.
- Add celery, onions and garlic with 1 tablespoon water.
- Cover and steam until vegetables are tender.
- Cook the noodles and add to beef mixture. Mix in all other ingredients except cheese.
- Spread mixture in 2 1/2 or 3-quart casserole.
- Top with cheese.
- Put in a cold oven set at 350°.
- Bake, uncovered, about 1 hour or until bubbling. (Freezes well.)
