Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. corn oil
  • 4 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted (4 oz.)
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • powdered sugar (to dip cookies in)
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder

Method

  • Mix oil, melted chocolate and sugar.
  • Blend in 1 egg at a time until well mixed.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Stir in salt, flour and baking powder.
  • Chill dough overnight.
  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Drop teaspoonful of dough balls into confectioners sugar.
  • Roll around until coated.
  • Place about 2-inches apart on greased cookie sheets.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Cookies will crack while baking. Add 1/2 cup pecans, if desired.
  • Yield:
  • 50 cookies.
