Ingredients

  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 lb. unseasoned pork sausage
  • 1 lb. bacon
  • 1 c. cooked rice
  • 1 tsp. parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp. basil flakes
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar

Method

  • Remove center from head of cabbage.
  • Place cabbage head in large pan and cover with water.
  • Add vinegar.
  • Cook until leaves become soft and can be removed.
  • Line roaster pan bottom with some of the cooked cabbage leaves.
  • Mix hamburger, sausage, rice and seasonings together.
  • Place mixture on individual leaves and roll. Wrap with bacon slice and secure with a toothpick.
  • Place in roaster.
  • Dissolve 4 beef bouillon cubes in juice from cooked cabbage and pour over rolls.
  • Bake at 350° for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, uncovered.
