Ingredients

  • 15 oz. can pear halves
  • 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 c. sour cream

Method

  • Drain pears; reserve 1/4 cup liquid.
  • Combine syrup, sugar and oil in a small saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in lemon juice, maple flavoring and cinnamon.
  • Arrange pear halves (cut side up) in a shallow baking dish.
  • Pour mixture over all.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
  • When serving, top each pear with a dollop of sour cream.
