Ingredients

  • 1 c. sliced almonds
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. white pepper
  • 1 head romaine lettuce, torn into pieces
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 11 oz. can mandarin orange segments, drained
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced

Method

  • Saute almonds in butter until golden; reserve.
  • Combine lemon juice, mustard, sugar, salt and white pepper.
  • Whisk in oil. Combine lettuce, oranges, onion and almonds.
  • Toss with dressing.
