Ingredients

  • 1 box macaroni
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 3 large chopped onions
  • 1 green, sweet pepper, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic or 1/2 tsp. powder
  • 1 c. syrup
  • 6 strips bacon
  • 1 large can tomatoes
  • 1 large bottle ketchup
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Chop bacon in small pieces and cook on low heat for 5 minutes. Add onions, green pepper and garlic; cook until done.
  • When almost half done, add ground beef; cook for 5 more minutes.
  • Add Italian seasoning, tomatoes, ketchup and syrup.
  • Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes; stir often.
  • Cook macaroni by directions on box; drain.
  • Put in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the cooled hamburger mixture; stir slightly.
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
