Ingredients
- 1 c. elbow macaroni
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. buttered bread crumbs
Method
- Cook macaroni according to package directions.
- Drain.
- Place in buttered casserole dish.
- Melt butter in double boiler; add flour, salt and pepper and stir.
- Slowly add milk and stir until sauce thickens.
- Cut cheese into cubes; add to sauce.
- Stir constantly until cheese melts.
- Pour cheese sauce over macaroni. Top with bread crumbs. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
- Makes 2 to 3 servings.
