Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/4 tsp. meat tenderizer
  • 1 tsp. onion salt or 1/8 c. finely diced Vidalia onion
  • 1/4 c. Heinz 57 sauce
  • 1 tsp. mustard
  • 3/4 c. Quaker oatmeal
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 c. onion or tomato soup

Method

  • Part 1:
  • Mix thawed and drained ground beef thoroughly with all Part 1 ingredients, except for 1/4 cup onion or tomato soup. Mixture should be firm enough to shape into loaf by hand (if soggy, add
  • more oatmeal).
  • Place in a 2 pound capacity loaf pan and pour 1/4 cup soup over loaf.
  • Place in oven and slow cook at 350° for 40 minutes.
  • Occasionally baste and marinate in natural juices.
