Ingredients

  • 3/4 Cup vinegar
  • 3/4 Cup sugar
  • 3/4 Cup Canola or other vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp celery seed
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • 1 medium sized green cabbage
  • 1 medium sized white onion

Method

  • Combine vinegar and sugar in saucepan and bring to boil.
  • Remove from heat and add oil, celery seed and mustard.
  • Thinly slice onion and cabbage. (#2 disc on Cuisinart processor works well. Cut cabbage into wedges for processing. Cut onion in half vertically - will fit nicely and slices well.)
  • Put sliced onion and cabbage in large bowl and pour vinegar/oil mixture over. Cover. When cooled put in refrigerator over night to allow flavors to absorb.
