Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 c. chopped celery
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 mashed garlic clove or 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
  • 2 c. cottage cheese
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. lasagna noodles
  • 1/3 c. Parmesan cheese

Method

  • Cook celery, onion and garlic in butter.
  • Add beef, tomatoes and seasonings and cook slowly for 20 minutes.
  • Cook lasagna in boiling salted water until tender.
  • Drain.
  • Arrange layers in greased baking dish:
  • first, a layer of noodles, then sauce, then alternating layers of cottage cheese and Mozzarella cheese.
  • Add remaining noodles and sauce.
  • Top with Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
  • Serves 8!
