- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 c. chopped celery
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 mashed garlic clove or 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
- 2 c. cottage cheese
- 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomato paste
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. lasagna noodles
- 1/3 c. Parmesan cheese
Method
- Cook celery, onion and garlic in butter.
- Add beef, tomatoes and seasonings and cook slowly for 20 minutes.
- Cook lasagna in boiling salted water until tender.
- Drain.
- Arrange layers in greased baking dish:
- first, a layer of noodles, then sauce, then alternating layers of cottage cheese and Mozzarella cheese.
- Add remaining noodles and sauce.
- Top with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
- Serves 8!
