Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 8 c. all-purpose flour

Method

  • Dissolve
  • yeast in 1/2 cup water.
  • Sift flour and salt. Add sugar
  • and shortening.
  • Mix well.
  • Add as much warm water as needed
  • to make
  • stiff dough.
  • Work well and put in large greased bowl.
  • Let rise until double in size.
  • Make into rolls and let rise
  • until
  • double
  • in
  • size.
  • Bake
  • at 375° for 15 minutes.
