Ingredients
- 12 or 13 saltine crackers
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. sugar
- 12 chopped dates
- 3 egg whites
- 1 tsp. almond flavoring
Method
- Crumble saltines in bottom of 8-inch aluminum pie pan (this is crust).
- Put dates and pecans on crust.
- Beat egg whites until stiff.
- Fold in 1 cup sugar and add the flavoring.
- Pour this mixture onto pecans and dates.
- Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
