Ingredients

  • 1 pound potatoes
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 lemon
  • salt
  • peanut oil
  • powdered sugar

Method

  • Wash the potatoes well with a brush, place them in a stockpot with cold water and boil them for approximately 30 minutes. Drain the potatoes, peel them, and mash them with a potato masher.
  • Cool the potatoes slightly and mix the zest and juice from 1 lemon, flour, eggs, sugar, and salt.
  • Shape the dough into several links that are approximately 1.5 centimeters thick. Cut into pieces measuring 12 centimeters, and bring the ends together into a circle.
  • Fry the doughnuts in oil at 350 degrees Fahrenheit in a generous amount of very hot oil until golden and drain them on paper towels.
  • Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.
