Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. butter (softened)
  • 2-1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. bleached Soft as Silk Cake Flour
  • 6 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. lemon flavoring
  • 1 tsp vanilla flavoring

Method

  • Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time.
  • Next, add sour cream.
  • In a separate bowl, sift cake flour, salt and baking soda together.
  • Add a small amount of flour mixture at a time to your butter, sugar, egg and sour cream mixture.
  • Last add flavorings.
  • Mix well.
  • Pour into pans sprayed with Pam.
  • Bake at 350° in preheated oven until done.
  • Makes 8 small layers.
