Ingredients

  • 1 head lettuce
  • 3 stalks celery
  • 2 c. grated cheese (Cheddar)
  • 1/2 to 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 12 oz. bacon, fried crisp

Method

  • Wash and dry lettuce.
  • Tear into bite size pieces and put in a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  • Slice celery and sprinkle over lettuce.
  • Next, put a layer of 1 cup of the cheese.
  • Place sliced onion on next. In small bowl, mix the sour cream and sugar together and spread over salad.
  • Then, mix the mayonnaise and vinegar and drizzle over that.
  • Crumble the bacon over it next. Top with remaining cup of cheese.
  • Refrigerate several hours.
